The disease caused by the bacterium Yersinia pestis. It affects animals and also human beings through infected animals especially rodents. The flea which bites the rodents, when attacks human it causes the infection.
There are three manifestations, which include:
-
Bubonic plague
Septicemic plague
Pneumonic plague
Intial condition is the Bubonic form when the flea passes over the infection to the human, the bitten node develops in to a a bu bo which would then enter in to the lymph nodes and then in to the blood stream. The serious symptoms include fever and a painful swelling lymph node, spots on the skin initially red in colour and change to black, heavy breathing, continuous blood vomiting, and aching limbs. The real pain is due to decaying of skin while the person is still alive. The Septimic stage causes a DIC(disesteemed intravascular coagulation)which almost end in death.
The pnemonic plague is due to the spread of disease from a human to human either by spread of droplets or through air of the infected person.
Currently the treatment for plague is present whre as in the past it would be very diffult and it would be fatal. Plague can be treated with any antibiotic in its early stage.Diagnosing Plague early and providing an apt treatment saves life. Information about treating flea bites
