Information About Root Canals

A root canal is a dental procedure that all of us are familiar with. Root canals are something we all dread, although when someone else is getting the procedure most of us find it to be somewhat amusing. When someone asks for a root canal on the other hand, most of us, including dentists, find it to be very absurd to say the least.

Although many aren’t aware of this, root canals have been around for many generations. Many years ago, ancient civilizations used this method to save teeth that would have been lost otherwise. These civilizations offered root canals to those such as queens, kings, pharaohs, and the rich. The teeth from peasants were normally extracted then sold to aristocrats.

Many years ago, doctors believed that worms were the reason for tooth decay. They also believed that there were many ways to kill the worms, including rinsing the mouth in one’s own urine both day and night. Although this is sick to say the least, this remedy was discarded in 1728, proven to be non effective and replaced by other more suitable treatment. As time passed, doctors proved that the best way to stop the pain was to clean and remove the nerve and pulp of the tooth.

Root canals are a very common procedure these days, as they help to save the tooth by removing the dead or dying pulp. The pulp exists inside of the tooth, and can spread to abscess if it isn’t taken care of. The tissue in the pulp is kept alive by the blood vessels that come from the tip of the root and travel along the root canal into the tooth.

Forever young! Is it worth?

Botox (Botulinum) is a toxic drug extracted from a bacterium by the name of clostridium botulinum. It is meant for nerve and muscle disorders, but is popular in cosmetic treatment for temporary reduction of facial lines and wrinkles. Just a minimal dose of botox via injection helps to make the muscles paralysed on that area of the face thus giving it a younger appearance. The effect of this lasts only for a period of four to five months. So treatment with botox has to be continuous if one is eager to not show those wrinkles and creases on the face and neck.

Not so precious, but fabulous!

Semi-precious stones are a big craze for jewellery wearers as a substitute for the costlier precious stones. Semi-precious stones are naturally-occurring stones with plenty of mineral content, though there are some organic ones that are not actually stones. Skilled precious-stone artisans cut, polish and design these stones to make some exquisite jewellery. Topaz, jade, garnets, turquoise, zircon, etc. are a few well-known names from a wide variety of semi-precious stones. Such stones are treated chemically to enhance beauty, colour, and design. Amber and coral are not rock but organic in nature. Prices for semi-precious stones vary as per the genuineness of the stone; the design and other factors.

The Brain Memory

The human brain is considered to be the storehouse for memory based on information gathered from learning processes in life and the experiences we undergo. The brain helps to retain certain portions of such information. The categories for memory include the main three types of memory viz. sensory memory, short-term memory, and long-term memory. Tagging

Tagging may broadly refer to book marking, identifying images, or even a text through information on the net. Widely used in blogging sites and other descriptive formats, a tag serves the purpose of a keyword. This means the information that is specified with keywords becomes a reference point for the viewer to search for other words of information. The tag normally appears as a web link. Types of tags vary in style such as triple tags and hash tags. Tags when collected together form a tag cloud and if there is a set of tag clouds, then it is referred to as folksonomy.
